Synopsis:

Anastasia is a musical adventure that follows a young Anya searching for her place in the world. Living in post-revolutionary Russia, during the 1920s, she has little memory of her past and dreams of a better future. When she crosses paths with two charming conmen, she is drawn into an unexpected journey to Paris. What begins as a calculated scheme evolves into a life-changing quest as secrets surface, loyalties are tested, and love emerges in unexpected ways.

Along the way, she encounters a colorful array of characters who challenge her, support her, and help her discover who she truly is. Blending romance, humor, and heartfelt storytelling, Anastasia explores themes of identity, resilience, and the idea that family can be found as well as remembered.

Content Note:

Anastasia contains themes/elements of violence and war, references to Communism, references to alcohol, romantic relationships depicted on stage (including kissing), and potential onstage use of prop guns / theatrical gunshots.

Audition Procedure:

Each evening of auditions will be broken up into 2 singing audition slots with a dance audition in the middle. Auditioners can select either the earlier or later singing time slot, but all are expected to attend the dance audition.

People auditioning will be asked to bring a song selection that represents their vocal range and personality. Please prepare 16–32 measures that:

  • You enjoy singing!

  • Shows your voice at its best (tone, range, and storytelling)

  • Comes from the Golden Age or traditional musical theatre repertoire (no modern or pop-style selections)

You do not need to sing a song from the show!

Most importantly: choose something that feels comfortable and confident for you. We are far more interested in hearing your voice than a “perfect” song choice.

If you would like suggestions, you may select from the styles or titles below. These are optional, merely suggestions, and certainly not required.

When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed female vampire hunter Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Five actors play over a dozen roles in this bloodcurdlingly hilarious send-up of the literary classic.

Bright Star

Inspired by a true story and featuring the Tony®-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s BRIGHT STAR tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.

Once on this Island

Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of the island, Daniel, with whom she falls in love. Unbeknownst to Ti Moune, the pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death, the stakes being Ti Moune's life. When she pursues Daniel, who has returned to his people, Ti Moune is shunned because of her lowly status. Her determination and capacity to love, though, is not enough to win Daniel's heart, and Ti Moune pays the ultimate price; but the gods turn Ti Moune into a tree that grows so strong and so tall, it breaks the wall that separates the societies and ultimately unites them.
